Area Code 407 was created in 1989 as a result in split of area code 305. The code serves areas of Central Florida - region in the Florida State of United States. Florida is South Atlantic State and the Time Zone followed by the state is Eastern Time Zone.
The 407 code got split in 1996 to form new area code 561. Later on, the 561 code split to form area code 772. Area Codes in Florida split at rapid rate because of the exhausting demands for the telephone lines. Existing area codes get split whenever there are indications that the area will be lacking of phone numbers in near future.
In 2000, new area code 321 was emerged as overlay to the code 407. The code 321 took control over the portion of Brevard County. It became mandatory to dial a 10-digit number throughout the 407/321 area.
