A brief description of Ohio Area Codes is given below:

This is one of the original area codes created in 1947. It is providing telephone services in Northeastern Ohio - Cleveland area. The code has gone through so many changes till yet. Population spurts and increasing demands for telephone connections made it essential to split the area in smaller areas with different area codes.

It is an overlay area added to area code 330 on 30th November 2001 in order to keep up with increasing demands of telephone lines.

It has been kept reserved for overlaying the code 513 if it gets exhausted and runs out of available numbers.

It was created on 9th March 1996 when area code 216 got split. The area code is serving Northeast Ohio, United States. Later on, code 234 was added as an overlay to code 330 on 30th October 2000.

It is one of the original codes created in 1947. However an overlay area code 567 was added on 1st January 2002 because of the population spurt and increasing demands of telephone lines.

It was created on 16th August 1997; it is providing telephone services in Northeast Ohio. The Code split from code 216 in 1997 so that to accommodate ever increasing demands for telephone lines.

It is one of the four original area codes assigned to Ohio State in 1947. Other three original area codes for Ohio State were 216, 419 and 614. Code 513 covers areas of Southwestern Ohio.

It is an overlay area added to code 419 in 2001 while code 419 was created in 1947. Both of these codes are used in the northwest corner of the State of Ohio.

It was created in 1947 and serving Columbus located in Ohio - state of United States. The Code 614 is one of the original area codes created in 1947. It had served the entire southeastern area of Ohio State for many years. With the passage of time and as a result of area splits it now covers only the Columbus metropolitan area.

This area code was created in 1998 for providing numbering relief to area code 614. The code particularly serves the Central and Southeastern regions of the state.  However, Columbus and some of its adjacent areas are still served by the previous area code 614.

This area code is serving Southwestern areas of Ohio. It was created on 28th September 1996. It came into being when area code 513 split in 1996 so that to keep up with increasing demands of telephone lines.
